The Story

God has two right arms!! One, golden-offering life to the chooser, the other bloodied, offering death. On the right side-God has created the universe on the left side planets have been incinerated!!!

The background is the Helix nebulae commonly called “God’s eye”.

This piece is of particular interest in Ted’s collection. Fifteen years into his art career, and the “almost famous artist” had a chance to become famous due to a controversy over the original rendition of this piece.

If you take a close look at the baby, you will see a fig leaf covering his genitals. In the original version of this piece, Ted left the baby exposed. However, after having the piece accepted for a show at an art gallery in a temple, the temple’s rabbi saw the piece and decided that it was not appropriate for a place of worship or those who might visit the gallery.

Ted’s children urged him to refuse any changes and attempt to get some PR over the differences of opinion and potential ban from the show. However, Ted being the consummate gentleman and not looking to stir up trouble, simply chose to alter the piece with a nod to the censorship of art that occurred in the 1500’s, and he covered the babies genitals with a fig leaf.
