The Story

This was among the handful of last boxes our Dad completed. As such, that sadly means he/we did not get around to recording all the meaning and significance behind it.

In it, Dad returns to one of his favorite topics - religion. Since his wife’s death, Ted has “boxed” with God and religion, trying to make sense of his loss. Usually, God and religion end up with the short end of the stick in Ted’s view. This box is no different.

In this box, Ted builds a theme of how just like the Venus flytrap that lures in insects and small animals, religion lures humans into their colorful, sweet leaves, only to be trapped and eventually devoured.
